Web Science

La notícia més interessant de la setmana? que amb el nom de Web Science sembla que la Southampton University es prendrà seriosament un intent d'aproximació a la multidisciplinarietat.

Gràcies a Julen descobreixo un document (html) (pdf) de la Web Science Research Initiative, WSRI ("wiz-ree"), que caldrà llegir detingudament.

Veig que a més a més de Julen també ho han comentat Antoine i E. Martínez.
(Apunt addicional: interessant el que trobem en els comentaris en referència a un projecte en aquest sentit a la Índia, Vedanta University).

Sabent quina és la meva opinió, no puc deixar d'alegrar-me'n i espero que s'apunti molta gent.

Em crida l'atenció un petit apunt de les conclusions:

We have also reviewed the various approaches that seek to analyse the Web as it is and as it may become. Here the need is for researchers in mathematics and physics, biology and economics to make common cause with engineers and computer scientists to help enrich our understanding of this huge decentralised information system. We have not said much about how understanding and analysing the Web could lead to important insights for other disciplines. But this is almost certainly going to be the case. Serious scientific collaboration is never a one way street.

I si ens trobéssim amb el camí que ens portés a desxifrar algun dels 10 majors misteris de la ment? Jo, és que tinc molta imaginació! :-)
